Summary

The video begins with a description of the layers to help us better understand a forest. Some of the many benefits of the forest to humans are described. Using GIS data and DNR information we can see the amount of forests lost since pre-European settlement. The types of forests that remain in the Faribault area are listed using the Faribault Natural Resources Plan. The video ends with ways to protect, steward and restore the forests in the county by starting in our own yards.
