Summary

This video begins with a description of habitat corridors and their importance. The Faribault Natural Resources Inventory work is used to show potential habitat corridor development. One model that can be used to show the change in the land over time is computer aided mapping using GIS data. There is no legislation at a state or federal level protecting habitat corridors, but the video guests give examples of what citizens can do to try to preserve natural open spaces. The video finishes with specific actions citizens can take in their own yards, their neighborhoods and across the county to preserve, protect or restore land to create habitat corridors.
