Cancellation information:
Refund less a $20 fee will be given if the cancellation is more than fourteen (14) days prior to the camp start date. If less than 14 days, refund less a $20 fee will be given only if we can fill the space. If we must cancel a camp session, you will receive a full refund. Email Elaine for more information.
Partners Scholarship information:
River Bend’s Partners Scholarship Program is available for families who want to attend our programs but cannot afford to pay the entire program fee. The scholarship funds are made available through the generous support of individuals and businesses in the area. Click here to download application and information form.

Tadpoles - Walkers ages 1-2
Bring your toddler to River Bend to begin the lifelong adventure of exploring nature.

Polliwogs - Age 3
Puddles & Ponds: Using all our senses we’ll play in water and discover the plants and animals that make their homes in and around our wetlands. Children may attend on their own or be accompanied by an adult. Snack provided.

Peekin’ and Sneakin’: Get ready to look for all the little things around the nature center. We’ll peek under things and try to sneak up on things to see what we can discover. Children may attend on their own or be accompanied by an adult. Snack provided.

Puddle Jumpers - Ages 5-6
Furry Fun – Furry animals are all around the nature center but most keep themselves well hidden. Get ready for lots of exploring as we discover the habits and habitats of these animals from the very small to the big and tall. Snack provided.

Water Tigers - Ages 7-9
What's up with Water? – Water is critical to life and so much fun to explore. Join your friends doing experiments, using some cool equipment, and discovering the incredible variety of life in the waters of River Bend. Snack provided.

Junior Naturalists - Ages 10-12
Searching for Streams at St. Croix St Park –
We will camp Tuesday thru Friday at St. Croix St. Park in the mid west’s most rare habitat of beautiful Jack Pine Savanna. We will enjoy hiking, swimming, and exploring local historic and cultural sites found in the Hinckley area. We will return by 4 p.m. on Friday. Meals during trip, transportation, camping, and activity fees included.

Camp Assistants Camp - Ages 13-17
Interested in gaining experience working with young children? Join us for this camp and you’ll learn natural history, group management, programming, and much more. This camp is free in exchange for you committing one or more weeks of your time to be an assistant at our summer camps this year.

Teen Adventure Camp - Ages 13-16
North to Grand Marais – explore many of Minnesota’s most beautiful scenic and historic places along the North Shore of Lake Superior. We will camp Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night at Gooseberry Falls St. Park. Day trips will include hiking to overlooks and waterfalls, swimming in lakes and rivers, and back water canoeing. Maximum enrollment limited to 10. Meals during trip, transportation, camping, and activity fees included.

Nature Explorers Camp I
The Good, Bad and Ugly
Ages 6-10
Everybody has their favorite parts of nature and those things they think are yucky. Spend the week with days full of exploring to figure out how all things, no matter what we think of them, are important in nature. Who knows, maybe you’ll change your opinion on what you think is yucky. Snack provided.

Nature Explorers Camp II
Patterns from Nature
Ages 8-12
Observe and model patterns in nature for the basis of creative art projects. Explore the far reaches of River Bend in search of ideas and materials. After camp on Friday from 4:00 – 4:30 families are invited to join in for a snack and a display of the art projects created during the week. Cost includes all snacks, materials, and supplies.
Session B August 5-8 (Tues thru Fri) 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nature Explorers Camp III
Life along the Mississippi
Ages 8-10
Get ready to explore the amazing wildlife, history and culture found along the Mississippi River. Each day we will explore a different location to discover new sites and aspects of North America’s mightiest river. Maximum enrollment limited to 12. Snacks and transportation to offsite locations provided.
